As with any event, targeted and effective promotion is key to the success of a virtual event. “Build it and they will come” is clearly a fallacy.
“Promote it and they will come” is not.
Speakeasy will work with you to first of all establish the key selling points your event has to offer, whether it’s a noteworthy speaker, useful skill sharing, valuable information, opportunity to network – or just keeping in touch. This value proposition will ring out clearly in the way we market your virtual event.
We will spread the word through multiple channels, including email and social media, with our approach tailored to different platforms. For example, invitations sent through InMail work better than impersonal posts on Linkedin. We might create an event countdown in Instagram stories, or a Facebook event with all the necessary information.
Presenters are often important influencers, so we will provide them with the information and tools they need to become ambassadors. We will ensure every communication includes a link to registration, making sure all potential attendees are clear on what the event can offer, where and when it will take place and how to get involved.
Our experience tells us that registrations tend to spike two to three weeks before an event, so we will ramp up our marketing activity at this time.
